No matter what your thoughts of it are I’m sure one of two things comes to mind when you see a Surly Pugsley, either you really want to ride it or you really want to own it. Sury has been making the Pugsley for many years now and many changes have taken place in their line of “Fat Bikes”, but over the years the Pugsley always remains a favorite to the Surly line. Many people buy one for its intended purpose snow and sand riding, but lets be honest what is the real purpose of this bicycle? The Surly Pugsley is guaranteed do two things if nothing else, turn heads and put a smile on your face. Riding one of these fat tired monsters brings out the child in everyone of its passengers. Nothing is more fun then getting to cruise around on a bike with 4 inch (or wider) tires hitting bumps and rolling like a tank over whatever you want. One other thing that is true about this snow beast, its never truly been weather permitting. Just because it was made for snow doesn’t mean that it wasn’t test ridden all day long at the 2012 Interbike Dirt Demo (in the Desert around Las Vegas). This is just a fun all purpose all conditions bike that rides truly unique and draws interest from everyone. It may not be built for performance in all categories of cycling but I can assure you its built for fun in all categories. Weather you want a snow bike a dirt bike a path bike or something for your custom rollers (see below) you can surely find it in the Surly Pugsley.
This set of rollers is made out of yes you guessed it logs and was on display for test rides at the Surly Booth for Interbike 2012. Despite all the fun you can have with a Pugsley the truth is that winter is fast approaching and what a better time to get a great snow bike.
