The criteria for a bike to be a hybrid are actually very simple. A hybrid bike typically has a 700c road sized wheel and can be anything as aggressive as a road bike with a straight handlebar to anything as relaxed as a comfort bike with larger wheels. This is a very large category that is designed to fit many different riding styles. Hybrid bikes can come with any type of tire from a slick skinny tire to a wider knobbier tire.
