With a lull in the racing this week, it’s been more about long rides and coffee shops than hard sprints and breakaways. As the season begins to taper off (although there are still 6 USA Cycling races within an easy drive of BH HQ, as well as the always fantastic Winfield crit and Fall Fling), we’ve got to take another moment to recognize some fantastic results.  First, with the Morton Crit having passed, the Illinois Cup winners have been finalized.  We are proud to announce that both of our Andys have won their respective divisions.  Andy Swims can add a Cat 3 Illinois Cup notch to his belt (which already has a notch for the Cat 3 Road State Champion).  Additionally, Andy Kerr can now include an Illinois Cup Championship on his palmares alongside his multiple State Championships.  Congrats to both guys.  They both ride hard and show up to race just about anywhere a race is happening.

With that, we have more upgrades to announce!  With apologies, we forgot to note in our last upgrade announcement that Ben Jenkins has gracefully exited cat 5 and is now holding his own in the 4′s.  Andy Swims has also been granted his upgrade into Cat 2.  There was a rumor going around that PFK was upgraded into Cat 2.  When contacted to confirm he was a 2 for this update, Pete wrote as follows, “Don’t put me in your update. I’ll file a lawsuit and I know a good lawyer.”  So, we won’t mention that he is also now a Cat 2!

The Bicycle Heaven feeder system is in full effect.  We have had five riders upgrade from 5 to 4.  Three riders have now upgraded from 4 to 3.  Two riders have left the 3′s for the 2′s.  And, we’ve got another decent group of Cat 5′s paying their dues and getting ready to move up!

Congrats to all these guys and everybody else on the team who has been working their tail off.  It’s been a great year, and there’s still a lot of good racing ahead.
